Desperate Housewives... in the White House?

First lady Laura Bush just cracks me up. She shines with class and poise but never sticks her nose up in that snobbish way that many woman (and girls) attempting to be classy often do.

And, she's got a real humorous side - so many of those women and girls, mentioned above, can't quite grasp the concept. At the 91st annual White House Correspondents' Association dinner, the First Lady interrupted a speech by her husband, President Bush.

She announced to the Nation that her husband in bed by 9 everynight, leaving her to watch Desperate Housewives... with Lynne Cheney. She then jokingly admitted, "Ladies and gentlemen, I am a desperate housewife."

Could she be any cuter?

(Now, on a side note, by calling her cute - as I think she is - I do not mean to downplay the fact that she is a powerful, educated and driven woman. "The president often refers to her as the most important, guiding force in his life and credits the First Lady with turning him around, thus putting him on the path to the White House. And when it comes to an unruly press, reporters sit up and take note of what Mrs. Bush says, thanks to her calm, commanding and reassuring demeanor.")

How funny is someone who reads a speech written by someone else Laura Bush didn't write anything in the speech she read on saturday night. I agree had great content, but don't give someone credit for reading a piece of paper.
