Tom and Katie: The Cartoon

Congrats to Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes on their publicity-enraged engagement. At first, I was down with the whole Tom/Katie PDA, but now I am just sick. Still, I felt it was deserving and a mention, oh, and a hilarious (yet brutally honest) cartoon, for your personal enjoyment. (Turn the volume up on your computer and click here.)

This is the weirdest thing ever. Seriously. Does anyone take this thing for what it is?

How long have they known each other?
Have they farted in front of each other yet?
Do you think that Tom is ready for another marriage?

The CPMC questions Tom's manliness...of which good judgment is a part.

CPMC - I personally believe they have absused the sanctity of marriage for an arranged publicity act. It makes me sick, but I am glad that we are at least finding humor, if not pure disgust in it.

It's nice to know that other people can see this type of act is not an appropriate one, and yes, I too question his judgement (and hers!)

I don't get the "it's all for publicity" argument. Tom Cruise is the biggest movie star in the world. He doesn't need more publicity. War of the Worlds is going to rake in the cash on its own.

That doesn't mean I think the relationship will last for ever, and Katie might have some publicity motivations. But the last thing Tom Cruise lacks is the ability to get his own press.

Tom Cruise needs publicity with the youngins'. He is reinventing himself, much like Madonna did w/ her new CD, which by the way is a better way to do it. Tom certainly lacks the ability to get his own press...especially when he screams he LOVES KATIE!!!

Just seems that Hollywood agents are pushing stars to have "marriages" to promote movies. Sick shit.
